Importing old emails into Gmail
Lifehacker Adam Push shares with us a cool application to import old email into gmail.
If you are using Outlook, you need to import them into Thuderbird, before using Gmail Loader to ‘upload’ mails into gmail.
Adam says that the Gmail Loader is primarily designed to import existing emails saved in the mBox format – the default for Thunderbird – so if you’re rolling with an Outlook .pst file, you might need import to Thunderbird first.
If you’ve wanted to search-not-sort with all your pre-Gmail emails, the free, cross-platform Gmail Loader is a great tool. If that doesn’t do the trick, you might also want to try previously mentioned gExodus, which also lets you label your imported mail.
