IE7 and Windows Live Mail Desktop

After my experience with IE7 & Outlook 2007, I decided to evaluate Windows Live Mail Desktop.

Basically Windows Live Mail Desktop, as the name suggests, is destop version of Windows Live Mail and is probably replacement to Outlook Express.

What makes me post about Windows Live Mail desktop is the new RSS feature.

Just like Outlook 2007, RSS feeds can be read as an email in Windows Live Mail desktop.

Similarity between these two clients ends here.

Unlike Outlook 2007, Windows Live Mail desktop pulls your RSS feeds from Internet Explorer 7.

So if you have configured your IE7 to read your feeds, then Windows Live Mail desktop will sync.

Also if you decide to delete the feed from Windows Live Mail desktop, it will sync with IE7 and the feed will disappear from IE7 as well, provided you have left the default settings.

This nearly resolves email client and IE7 rss sync issues. Now if we can find solution to tristank’s concern :-)

I have tried couple of options to get the prompt, but no success so far.

Another post coming up, uncovering the the sync process between Outlook 2007 and IE7 and issues with Feedburner.
