And going strong! This blog has survived 365 days in the blogosphere! Hooray!!
It’s my blog’s first birthday! Yes, it’s been a year since I started blogging. In this one year, I have learnt a lot. I started blogging primarily to network. I was right. With so many social networks springing up around the web, I jumped in at the right time. I started blogging to make something out of my name, sharing my passion and make new friends. Which I have done over this one year of my blogging.
I believe not everyone is 100% and there’s always a lot of learning that happens. Over this one year, I have not rubbed anyone on the wrong side. At least, no one has contacted me, writing to me that I have done something that I should not have.
Infact, I have made many new web friends and look forward to being in touch with them over the coming years. I may even end up meeting them, never know.
It sure has been very encouraging for me to continue blogging. Over the 12 months, I have received much kudos for some of my posts – mostly on SharePoint, which is I strongly believe is a great collaborative tool. If you have been following my blog, you can clear see my niche in writing for SharePoint as I learn. I read large number of feeds on SharePoint and I admit that I have learnt a lot, but sometimes I miss reading and learning the IT professional side of SharePoint. It’s more on developer side and I am not a coder or a designer (hence the homemade picture that you see above), I must say.
In my endeavor to deliver to that side of IT professional, I have been featured, linked and recognized in many newsletters, blogs and blog directories. This blog has gone from zero (always a start at that) to 140 and I have not shied away from displaying the feedburner chicklet . There is nothing to be shy off. I won’t take that away for sure for new blogs that I am planning…
A lot of IT and in particular SharePoint feed aggregators pick up my blog feeds. In addition to that I know a lot of bloggers and IT professional’s like you have subscribed to my blog and have since commented on my blog, encouraging me to keep writing – a commitment from my end – despite a year where I had to rush back to my sick son, my dad back in India and in between my studies. I personally extend my thanks to each and every one of you for your continued patronage.
In this birthday week, I will be featuring
- My Blog’s Stats for this year from Google Analytics, Feedburner and Reinvirogate.
- My top posts (that I feel are tops),
- Popular posts,
- My new friends,
- Themes that this blog has skinned,
- My plugins and
- My write up for every new blogger – must do’s – that I have learnt.
- My plans for the second year.
Stay tuned to see how I have managed to stay afloat in this blogosphere.
Until then…
UPDATE: It should have read Minutes and not Hours! I have corrected that
